Børge Mogensen (1914 – 1972)

Børge Mogensen began his career as a cabinetmaker in 1934 and then in 1936 went on to study at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts before entering the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He graduated as an architect in 1942.

Whilst studying at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts, Mogensen developed a close relationship with his mentor Kaare Klint which shaped Mogensen's simple and functional furniture design. His furniture was designed with industrial production in mind and often has strong and simple lines.
