The LC2 and LC3 lines were conceived as cushion baskets designed to bring the lowly-but-essential furniture frame into the spotlight, making it an integral part of the design. It was the original designer's way of bringing the spare, industrial look of the International Style the modernist movement he pioneered into the living room, without sacrificing comfort. This design was the toast of 1929s Salon D'Automne, a Paris show where Europe's top designers and artists displayed their work.
