The Arianna style lamp was inspired by the Greek myth of Ariadne. It is well associated with balls of thread and yarn to redefine the very thing that holds those – the yarn swift. Yarn swifts are adjustable wooden structures that expand and contract much like an umbrella mechanism does when you raise and lower them.
